Afternoon

Transfer from Girona or Barcelona airport to Cal Santu, Banyoles.

Evening

Check-in, settle in, explore the house and the pool.

Night

First dinner together as a group. The tribe gathers.

The big ride

Cyclist breakfast at Cal Santu with local produce.

Gravel ride — main route. Pla de l'Estany forests, volcanic trails of the Garrotxa. ~60km · 900m+.

Lunch stop in a local village restaurant.

Afternoon

Return to Cal Santu. Pool, recovery, free time.

Evening

Group dinner at the house. Stories from the road.

Banyoles and the Pla de l'Estany sit at the crossroads of three worlds: volcanic forest, mountain foothills and lake country. Pure gravel territory.

Pla de l'Estany & Garrotxa

From Cal Santu, head into the forests of the Pla de l'Estany — dirt tracks between ancient oaks, no cars, no noise. Cross into the volcanic zone of the Garrotxa: beech forests, lava cones, hidden villages. Loop back via Banyoles lake.

Lake Banyoles Loop

A shorter, sweeter morning loop. Circle the Olympic lake, climb into the hills above Porqueres, roll through fields of corn with the Pyrenees on the horizon. The perfect farewell ride.

The cycling secret of Girona

Banyoles

Banyoles sits in the Pla de l'Estany — a flat, quiet plateau surrounded by forests and farmland, with the Pyrenees rising to the north. The Olympic lake — venue for the 1992 Barcelona Games — is 10 minutes from Cal Santu.

From here, world-class gravel is literally outside the door. The Garrotxa volcanic zone starts 20 minutes west. Rocacorba is 15 minutes south. The Costa Brava is 45 minutes east. Girona city is 25 minutes.
